Climate Action Playbook

Nurturing Hope and Resilience in Early Childhood

The early years, from birth to age 8, are a pivotal time for fostering empathy, resilience, and a deep connection to the natural world. Children thrive when guided by engaged adults who model climate action and nurture hope for the future. As they face challenges like climate change, caregivers have a unique opportunity to prepare them with the confidence and compassion needed to navigate a rapidly changing world.

Bridging Education, Climate Science, and Justice

Children are disproportionately affected by climate change, with Black and brown children bearing the greatest burdens. This Climate Action Playbook provides caregivers with actionable strategies that unite early childhood education, climate science, and environmental justice. By laying the foundation for wonder, empathy, and collective action, we can empower the next generation to care for themselves, their communities, and the planet.

The climate action playbook is designed with sections for both museum visitors and caretakers, and separately for museum professionals and staff. You can download the entire playbook, or whatever section is appropriate for your needs.
